Dr. Keadle hopes to alleviate concerns about Beneful dog food.

An individual in California has filed a class action lawsuit against the company, as he believes his dogs' death were a result of being fed Beneful.

We hope the following information will alleviate any concerns you may have about the dog food Beneful.

1.  This is a class action lawsuit, and NOT a recall.  Please remember that anyone can file a lawsuit anytime and for any reason.  The FDA has not substantiated any of these concerns regarding Beneful dog food, and there is no recall in place.

2. The autopsies performed on these dogs did not determine a definitive cause for the dogs' symptoms.  Many different diseases and toxins in the environment can cause similar symptoms and deaths.  A link between the dog's deaths and Beneful has not been proven.

3. The ingredient mentioned most often in both the lawsuit and the news stories we have read is a sweetner called "propylene glycol."  This is not the same as the dangerous ingredient "ethylene glycol" found in antifreeze.  Propylene Glycol is an FDA approved ingredient found in thousands of pet products and human products used every day.  Studies have shown the levels in these products to be safe.

4. Dr. Keadle takes pet safety very seriously. If there is a recall we will notify all clients by email, facebook, and our website. Please feel free to call us with any concerns.
