Lost and Found
As a service to our community, we have added a lost and found page to post the information given to us by people who have lost their pet or found a pet.
Remember to keep a collar with pet identification tags on your pet at all times. A microchip is an even better way to keep identification on your pet. Microchipping is done by a simple injection and then your pet is registered with a national data base. Spring will soon be here and hurricane season will soon follow. Act now to keep your pet safe. Make sure your fence and gate are secure. Make arrangements to keep your pet secure if you are having repairs or yard work done and on days of inclement weather. Please read the steps below on what to do if your pet becomes lost.
If your pet becomes lost:
1. Alert friends and neighbors that your pet is missing.
2. Have someone contact all the veterinary clinics and shelters in your area while you begin your search. When searching consider your pet's likes and dislikes. Dogs that like to hunt and run, will probably move quickly and go to parks or the ditches in our area. Small and big social dogs will probably meander from house to house visiting.
3. Put up signs with a picture.
4. Search all the lost and found animal websites.
5. Contact the rescue groups for your dog's specific breed.
